You should expect that Genuine Way Family Therapy takes mental health concerns seriously. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Unfortunately, it’s common for people to brush aside their mental health concerns or mental illness, thinking that what they are going through is ‘a phase’ or simply ‘will pass.’ While life can throw us curve-balls that sometimes do pass, your concerns will always be encountered with open ears and respect.
If you are a parent and you have concerns about your child’s well-being, you can expect that your voice will be heard. Parents frequently discuss feeling alienated and without direction when their children are facing concerns such as adversity, trauma or defiance. Together we will discuss goals for your child and family and address how change can begin to be implemented.
You can also expect that change is most frequently encountered with twists, turns and bumps along the way. We will work as a team to navigate these roadblocks and focus on achieving your therapy goals!
A: We pride ourselves on practicing what we encourage others to do; focus on balance and self-care. Therefore, we do not overbook our schedules. This allows us to get new clients seen in a very short turnaround time, from initial contact.
We also go above and beyond with our regulated continuing education requirements. We have a passion for growth and furthering our knowledge; oftentimes doubling our state requirements.
We have made our office space a place of comfort, very intentionally. You can expect a relaxed, comfy, down-to-earth atmosphere when you are within our office. Whether you want to sit on the floor, lay on the couch, doodle in a notebook, or move around during sessions, we are happy to meet you in that space of comfort.
A: Most often we can get you seen within 5-7 business days! Once you are an established client, you will collaborate with your therapist on the frequency and duration of ongoing appointments.
A: We accept cash, check, or card payments. HSA is accepted if it is in check or card form. Payments are due at the time of service.
A: If you have some nerves leading up to and going into your first session, we can assure you that many others often feel similarly! However, we certainly do not want these nerves to stop you from getting help, so, there are a few resources on our website that may prove to be helpful to you. Feel free to check out our Office Tour video to get to know our space, before even stepping into our building and/or check out your therapists’ introduction video!
Then, when you arrive for your session, you can expect to get to know your therapist by going over our intake paperwork items, sharing why you have reached out for professional services, providing some background information about yourself, and asking your therapist any questions you may have.
Genuine Way Family Therapy accepts payments in the forms of: cash, check, and credit/debit card.
Please note that at this time we do not conduct couples/marital therapy sessions.
Genuine Way Family Therapy is a private pay office. We do not accept insurance nor EAP's as a source of payment for services.
I highly recommend Karah. She shows up with a smile on her face and a warm greeting and is GENUINELY caring and attentive at each visit. She is able to balance the warmth and comfort with an ability to ask hard questions and challenge us. We are grateful!
